Herbal Back to School Germ Prevention | Divine Lotus Healing

It’s that time of year again… when families become susceptible to the wonderful world of back to school germs! In my house we use this simple 2 ingredient recipe to stave off the “yuckies” when we feel them coming on, and, we also use it as prevention so our immune systems stay strong. This combination can be used to treat staph and other infections topically as well as the flu. It can help knock a cold down quickly; taken as first symptoms begin to appear.

Ingredients

One clove of garlic (raw)

One tablespoon of wild, organic, raw honey

Recipe

Chop the clove of garlic onto a tablespoon. Drizzle honey over it, covering it completely. Eat 2x a day, morning and evening.

Side Note

Potent Smell and Taste! Brush teeth afterwards or you will smell like garlic!

Only use Wild, Organic, Raw Honey. Do not use conventional or synthetic honey. It often is laced with high fructose corn syrup and preservatives.

Crush the garlic and let it stand for 5-10 minutes. It becomes more potent with all the “goodness” getting stronger the longer you let it sit and stew in its own juices.

How It Works

Garlic: immune system stimulant, diaphoretic, expectorant, antimicrobial

raw cloves support respiratory issues, can ease some discomforts of a cold & shorten the duration by stimulating immune system, thinning mucous & can even help to reduce a fever

Wild, Organic, Raw Honey: contains fiber and antiseptic resins (Mase, 2013), contains vitamins and minerals, antimicrobial. Has a long shelf life.

Safety

People with gastrointestinal issues or ulcers may notice that garlic aggravates their system. Honey should not be given to children under one year of age because it may contain small trace amounts of the toxin botulism. This does not harm fully formed immune systems, but can damage a new baby’s immune system.
