I just finished reading Soul Survivor, The Reincarnation of a World War II Fighter Pilot by Bruce and Andrea Leininger and Ken Gross.  It was loaned to me by someone who recently discovered I am a psychic medium and she said, “Oh it’s my absolute favorite book!  You must read it.  I know you’ll love it!”

This incredible true story chronicles a little boy, James, and his mother and father (the co-authors of the book) through his toddler years as they struggle to make sense of his strange night terrors and vivid imaginary play all centered around World War II fighter planes and a terrible crash.  Throughout the book, Bruce spends ever increasing time and energy trying to figure out how and why his son knows so much about these planes and the people who operated them.

The tale is so vivid that I often had to remind myself it was a true story.  In fact, I would argue that it is some of the most compelling evidence I have read about a reincarnation case in the West in modern history.  This is due to the meticulous, some would say obsessive, fact checking and debunking that went on  in trying to make sense of James’ experiences.

In the end this is a heart warming tale of a family being tormented by their sons unusual behaviors and growing closer together in and effort to find out what was really going on.  It was an enjoyable read; quick with a casual flow and almost conversational style.

The Leininger’s have a website dedicated to their book: http://www.soulsurvivor-book.com/
