doTERRA is a billion dollar revenue maker annually. That’s a lot of plant material to harvest to make oil from all over the world! doTERRA uses ethical harvesting practices, both for plant material and paying people living wages, as well as helping to support local communities where oils are harvested.
Just take a look at all the good that’s being done…
But first, go and get one of your bottles of oil . Go. Right now, really. Get one….
Now turn it bottom side up and look for the number and letter code. Type the code into this website. (Under the Quality Reports Tab)
It’s doTERRA’s Source To You site; where each bottle of oil has been vetted and quality tested.
Yes. Each bottle of oil.
Now that you know about your individual bottle of oil, read on below to learn about the AMAZING growers and farmers who harvest your oils and the people participating in service projects that help them make a good living around the world!

Co-Impact Sourcing
Co-Impact sourcing is doTERRA’s way of making sure they don’t over farm the land for plant material, in its native environment. This is why sometimes, an oil will be out of stock. It hasn’t been stripped bare to mass produce to keep company volume up; rather the local farmers only harvest a healthy amount of plant material to turn into oil.
As you may know, doTERRA sources oils from all over the world, in the region where that particular set of plant material is found to have the highest potency yield. A few examples:
doTERRA vetiver comes from Haiti
doTERRA lavender comes from Bulgaria
doTERRA copaiba comes from the Amazon rainforest
doTERRA cedarwood comes from Australia. Cedarwood is actually an invasive species there so doTERRA partnered with local wildlife officials to do a contained management of the tree population to keep it in check alongside the native species there.
Co-Impact sourcing also ensures the farmers / harvesters who are the native peoples make a living wage directly from doTERRA. The company does not employ middle men to go into communities to negotiate (and often steal) cost and salary pay out. doTERRA directly pays the farmers / harvesters who live there.

Healing Hands Foundation
Have you ever noticed on the bottom of your order page, there is this little box you can check that says “Donate a dollar to Healing Hands“?
You are going to want to do this regularly with each order after you learn about how important and cool it is…
The Healing Hands Foundation is a program within doTERRA that partners with all kinds of non-profit organizations and foundations all over the world. Often, wellness advocates spearhead the work!
The Healing Hands Foundation brings clean water to communities. A great example of this is with the vetiver farmers in Haiti. They traveled up to two hours EACH WAY each day to get clean water for their community. When doTERRA learned about this, the company came in and built them running water facilities right where they live.
The Healing Hands Foundation builds schools in communities where their farmers work and live so children can get an education and families know their children are safe. A good example of this is in Kenya where wellness advocates partnered with a non-profit charity to to build a school in the rural Dipo Village in Africa where classes were exceeding 110 students due to lack of schoolroom space.
The Healing Hands Foundation builds medical facilities in rural communities where people have little access to healthcare. For example, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation partnered with the Senegal Health Institute to raise funds for a women’s clinic in Kafountine, Senegal, West Africa.
Can you guess where the Healing Hands Foundation raises most of the money for all these projects and hundreds more?…
You. And Me. And all the other people who click that little box and donate a dollar every time we order our oils.
Pretty amazing isn’t it?
We really are changing the world one oil drop at a time!
This video shows just a few examples of Healing Hands work from around the world…
