Success Check In

Wellness Advocates | Success Check In

The Main Idea

The main idea here is to keep your mentoring focused on RESULTS.

Using the Success Check-in as a guide to drive your conversation and be your meeting agenda will make sure your meetings are focused and don’t veer off into topics that are not helpful for you or your business.

What We Will Cover

The Success Check-in covers 4 different areas:

  • Celebration & Evaluation
  • Accountability & Goals
  • PIPES Rain-Making Activity Tracking & Reporting
  • Vital Action Steps

These areas give the mentor a clear picture of what is going on in the mentee’s business.  Thus, armed with this information, the mentor can advise the mentee on actions, training, mindset adjustments, or skills that need to be addressed to improve the business of the mentee.

The Success Check-In

The Success Check-In is a tool you can use to get the most out of your mentoring.  By completing this and sharing it with your doTERRA mentor, you will give them the information they need to steer you in the right direction.

  • Celebrate your successes. Evaluate areas that need support. Think about your success so you can repeat what’s working and eliminate what’s not. Complete and send to your mentor weekly.
  • Identify where you are and where you want to be.
  • Assess your PIPES activities. Identify where breakdown is happening and focus on the one thing that is most important (e.g. skill mastery on inviting or enrolling).
  • Base your next Vital Action Steps on awareness from your PIPES evaluation. Ask your upline for support.

How To Use

The Success Check-in is used before and during the mentoring session.

  • Mentee: completes the Success Check-in prior to the mentoring session and emails or texts it to the mentor in enough time for the mentor to review it or brings it to the mentoring meeting
  • Mentor: reviews the Success Check-in beforehand to prepare for the mentoring session any necessary training or words of advice or shares ideas about it during the meeting

The two then can use the Success Check-in to guide their mentoring session as an agenda.

Celebration & Evaluation
So the first thing in the session after a little bit of get-acquainted and visiting is to celebrate successes. This is very important. You must celebrate and take note of the accomplishments. I find that many times mentee’s really look forward to sessions, so they can share these successes they have had. It boosts spirits and allows you to “enjoy” what is going right before talking about “work”.

Next, you need to evaluate. There will likely be something in the business that needs to be working better. I like this wording, “What needs to be working better?” It’s positive and doesn’t constantly say, “You’re broken. How do we fix you?” Focus on things that need to come about: results; rather than focusing on problems.

Accountability & Goals
Secondly, discuss Accountability and Goals:

Where you are
Where you want to be

Even if you have already mentioned these last week, and do not need to re-make your goals. Review them and acknowledge them. This helps keep them at the forefront of your mind.

PIPES Rain-Making Activity Tracking & Reporting
Review the activities you are engaging in that can bring business and growth to your doTERRA business. The Success Check-in does this by splitting tasks into the 5 areas in the PIPES Acronym:

P – Prepare
I – Invite
P – Present
E – Enroll
S – Support

Review these and look for patterns or areas that need attention, or… celebration. Review your numbers from last week and set goals in each category for the following week.

Vital Action Steps
Last, but not least is the Vital Action Steps section. This is where you identify things that need to improve in your business and what you need to do about it. There are three sections

What needs to happen
Your part (mentee)
Upline support

The “What needs to happen” section is the desired result. The “Your part” is a task that is within your power to do. For instance, if you need 1,000 volume under a certain leg of your team, you would put that in the “What needs to happen” box. What you need to do is not “people need to enroll” because you don’t have control over that, but you do have control over following up, inviting, scheduling and teaching classes. All those things you will do to increase the likelihood of getting the 1000 point you need in that area of your team. The upline could support by holding you accountable, helping with your presentation, training, or even be a special guest at your events.

Having clear action steps when you leave the mentoring session is KEY to moving forward and making progress in growth. Make sure you are clear and results-focused.

Conclusion / Recap
The success check in is a tool to use to support your momentum forward and while there are many tools out there, his one happens to be used by many really good builders and by all the leaders on our team. It helps you to be systematic and duplicatable. Make sure people know what to do and how to do it.

Use the tool as a guide to give you clarity as to what is going on and where you are headed and also what needs to happen.

Application
Your challenge is to complete a Success Check-in whether or not you have an upline mentor. Just doing it will give you guidance and clarity.
