When we learn to give ourselves Reiki by taking a class and receiving reiju (an attunement) we give ourselves many gifts. One of which is the ability to slow down and rest for a moment. As we place our hands upon our physical body we have the ability to gently tune in to what is going on inside us; perhaps mentally, physically, emotionally, or a combination. Taking a couple of centering breaths while the Reiki warms and begins to flow feels good.

We are giving ourselves permission to pause during our busy lives to really listen to our inner selves. The beauty of treating ourselves with Reiki is we don’t have to do it for long periods of time. Just a few minutes is good enough. Of course, more hands on for longer is always better but it doesn’t mean we are missing out.

I find that I subconsciously place my hand on my chest when I’m in meetings or on the couch at home in the evenings or when I’m centering in meditation. This is a comforting spot for me to feel the Reiki flowing. It relaxes me, makes me feel healthy and strong, and helps ease tension. If you are Reiki attuned, you may find that you have your own favorite spot to place your hands. Please share in the comments below…

Regular self Reiki practice is a tool to help center and ground ourselves.

[bctt tweet=”Regular self #Reiki practice is a tool to help center and ground ourselves.” username=”divinelotusheal”]It’s not the “best” or the” only” tool. There is no “best” or “only” tool that is right for everyone. Reiki is simple however. Just place your hands and listen for the warmth. That’s it. After a few minutes, check in with yourself and see how you feel. Notice any shifts that have occurred. None yet? It’s okay. Keep going. Or pause for the day and come back to the practice again tomorrow. Over time you may begin to notice patterns. Perhaps old, destructive ones diminishing and or new healthy ones developing. Keep checking in with yourself. Be patient. Be gentle. Rest in gratitude for Reiki self practice.
